REIS Announces Workshop on “The Real Estate Market Revival”
The resurgence of Southwest Florida’s real estate market brings new opportunities and challenges and the Real Estate Investment Society (REIS) is presenting a workshop to help local governments, landowners, developers, lenders, attorneys, planners, design and construction professionals find and use new strategies for development projects. The workshop, “The Real Estate Market Revival – Let’s Get Ready To Roll!,” is presented by REIS in cooperation with the Lutgert College of Business at Florida Gulf Coast University, ULI Southwest Florida (Urban Land Institute), and The Chamber of Southwest Florida on September 13th at Florida Gulf Coast University. The workshop is sponsored by ROETZEL, HSA Engineers & Scientists and the Pavese Law Firm. National and local experts will discuss “Resurrecting Stalled Projects,” “Strategies for Choosing Site Selection Teams,” and “Innovative Financing Strategies.” The speakers will gather as panels for question and answer sessions at the end of each segment, addressing specific issues brought forward by workshop attendees. Dr. Ron Toll, Provost and VP of Florida Gulf Coast University, will deliver the keynote address and present an update on the Innovation Hub project. The “Capital Markets Outlook” will be presented by Manuel de Zarraga, Executive Managing Director of Holliday Fenoglio Fowler, L.P. The “Real Estate Market Outlook” will be provided by Paige Rausch, Commercial Advisor with Boback Commercial Group. Other segments include “Residential / Mixed Use Development” featuring: Brian Goguen, Senior Vice President of Barron Collier Companies; Milt Flinn, COO of Kitson & Partners, Talis Park; and Michael Greenberg, Vice President of Home Building for Neal Communities; and “Commercial / Corporate Development” featuring: Glen Salyer, Interim Economic Development Director for Lee County; Jim Boback, CCIM, Commercial Advisor with Boback Commercial Group; and W. Stephen Hagenbuckle, Managing Principal of TerraCap Management. Admission is $25 for members of REIS and ULI, $15 for active college students, and $45 for all other interested persons. Admission includes a campus parking pass and refreshments. Continuing Education Credits for professional engineers, certified planners, and attorneys are pending approval. Seating is limited and reservations are required by September 7th.
