FORT MYERS, FL – Speakers have been announced for the REIS seminar on resources for acquiring real estate capital. The line up includes experts on SBA loans, commercial banking, foreign investors, capital markets and venture capital sources. The seminar, “Where’s the Money?,” is presented by the Real Estate Investment Society (REIS) on September 22nd at Pelican Preserve Town Center in Fort Myers.
“SBA Financing – An Overview with Emphasis on the SBA 504 Program” will be presented by Mark Mayhew of Florida Business Development Corporation. Mr. Mayhew has an extensive background in banking and loan portfolio management and has been one of the leading facilitators of SBA loans in South Florida.
“The New Principle is ‘Tried & True’ – back to the Fundamentals of Lending,” presented by Michael Greenhoe, will explain the role of commercial banking in the real estate recovery, including acquisition and development financing. He also has substantial experience in workouts and loan restructuring. Mr. Greenhoe is Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending for Encore Bank, NA., with over 27 years in commercial banking.
“Is America the Last Bastion of Capitalism for Foreign Investors?” will provide guidance on foreign investors, their market and property criteria, means of identifying opportunities, and how to serve them. The topic will be presented by Arnold J. Haake, president of Commercial Real Estate Opportunity Fund of SWFL. Mr. Haake is the former founder and chairman of Royal Palm Bank, a Florida commercial bank serving European shareholders and clients. He previously developed broad experience in banking in Europe and the Middle East while involved in the international operations of The Chemical Bank of New York (now JP Morgan-Chase).
“Unlimited Capital – Managing Borrower’s Expectations with Lender’s Platforms in Today’s World” will be presented jointly by N. Edward Tamer and John Nicola. They will review capital markets, current lending criteria, sources of venture capital, and what developers and consultants need to know to finance development projects. Mr. Tamer is Senior Vice President of Grandbridge Real Estate Capital and Mr. Nicola is Assistant Vice President of the firm.
“Where’s the Money” will culminate with a panel discussion where all speakers will address specific questions from those attending. The seminar will be moderated by Steven P. Kushner, Attorney at Law and Shareholder with Becker & Poliakoff, P.A.
The half-day workshop will begin at 8 a.m. Wednesday, September 22nd, in the Magnolia Room at Pelican Preserve, on Colonial Boulevard one mile east of I-75 exit 136, in Fort Myers.
