<p>Florida Representative Jenna Persons-Mulicka and Senator Ray Rodrigues will review the 2021 Legislative Session and implications for Southwest Florida’s real estate industry at the Real Estate Investment Society’s (REIS) May 11th luncheon meeting.<br /> <br /> Recent legislative action and budget allocations will have far-reaching impacts on our local economy and Representative Persons-Mulicka and Senator Rodrigues will summarize the key issues to watch. The legislators are also expected to provide insight on the legislative process and political factors. Following the presentations, Rodrigues and Persons-Mulicka will respond to questions of specific interest to the real estate investment and development industry.<br /> <br /> Representative Persons-Mulicka was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2020 and serves on numerous committees, including the Infrastructure and Tourism Appropriations Subcommittee. Jenna Persons-Mulicka is a partner in the Strayhorn & Persons law firm in Fort Myers, where she specializes in government, commercial, land use and zoning.</p> <p>Senator Rodrigues was elected to the Florida Senate in 2020 after having served in the House of Representatives for 8 years and was Majority Leader. He chairs the Governmental Oversight and Accountability Committee and serves on several others, including Banking and Insurance and Finance and Tax Committees. He has worked as Budget Manager for the College of Arts and Sciences at Florida Gulf Coast University.<br /> <br /> The meeting is sponsored by <a href="http://salleepromotions.com">Sallee Promotions</a>, and will begin promptly at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, March 9th in the Osprey Room at Pelican Preserve’s Clubhouse, on Treeline Avenue at Colonial Boulevard, one mile east of I-75 exit 136 in Fort Myers. The luncheon may be extended to 1:15 due to the special program. Admission is $30.00 for members and $40.00 for guests, which includes lunch. Reservations are required by May 5th.
