Craig Capano, Ph.D., will present a progress report on the Construction Management program at Florida Gulf Coast University and involvement with the real estate development industry. Sponsored by Chris-Tel Construction. REGISTRATION CLOSED. WEBCAST AT 1

The growth of the Construction Management program at Florida Gulf Coast University and its role in the region’s development industry will be presented at the Real Estate Investment Society’s (REIS) December 8th luncheon meeting. Craig Capano, Ph.D., CPC, founding chair/professor with Florida Gulf Coast University’s (FGCU) Construction Management Department will explain the program and its relationship with Southwest Florida’s real estate development industry.

The program will look at sustainable construction methods, new techniques, and interaction with real estate, finance, design, and management disciplines. Following his presentation, Dr. Capano will respond to questions of specific interest to the real estate investment and development industry.

Dr. Capano has started similar programs at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, Western Carolina University and Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. He has more than 40 years of experience in the construction industry and currently serves as principal of The Capano Group, a consulting firm for contractors and construction education. His research interests are in Construction Technologies, Prefabrications, and Construction Analytics.

The meeting is sponsored by Chris-Tel Construction, and will begin promptly at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, December 8th in the Osprey Room at Pelican Preserve’s Clubhouse, on Treeline Avenue at Colonial Boulevard, one mile east of I-75 exit 136 in Fort Myers. Admission is $30.00 for members and $40.00 for guests, which includes lunch. Reservations are required by December 3rd. The program will also be provided as a live webcast at 12:10 p.m. that day at no charge.
