Planning for growth in one of the nation’s fastest growing areas will be addressed at the December 10th meeting of the Real Estate Investment Society (REIS). Mark Strain, Collier County Hearing Examiner and Chairman of the Planning Commission, will present an information-rich overview of growth trends, emerging development opportunities, and County efforts to support and manage it. While residential growth in undeveloped areas continues, Collier County is also experiencing a surge in redevelopment of existing commercial properties. Strain will discuss those trends and review future land uses and development potential in the County. After his presentation, Mr. Strain will respond to questions from the attending real estate development and investment professionals. Mark Strain has served on the Collier County Planning Commission since 2001, being chairman for 15 years, and as hearing examiner since 2013. He has also served as chairman of the Workforce Housing Advisory Committee, Golden Gate Master Plan Committee, president of Golden Gate Chamber of Commerce, Golden Gate Estates Civic Association, and member of the Collier County Code Enforcement Board and Army Corps of Engineers EIS Study Group for Southwest Florida. The meeting is sponsored by Henderson Franklin Starnes & Holt and will begin promptly at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11th in the Osprey Room at Pelican Preserve’s Clubhouse, on Treeline Avenue at Colonial Boulevard, one mile east of I-75 exit 136 in Fort Myers. The scope of the presentation will extend the luncheon to 1:15 p.m.
