"Riding the Wave: a look at coastal development in Southwest Florida" is the focus of the annual half-day workshop presented by Real Estate Investment Society and Lutgert College of Business at Florida Gulf Coast University.
Developers, government leaders, and real estate experts will address the dynamics of development and redevelopment in coastal areas at the 2019 Real Estate Symposium to be held in Estero on September 19th. The annual event is presented by the Real Estate Investment Society (REIS) in partnership with the Lutgert College of Business at FGCU, the Calusa Chapter of the Florida Planning & Zoning Association (FPZA), and the Promised Lands Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA) Florida. Leading developers and consultants will address regulatory and construction issues, floodplain management, and sea level rise and environmental concerns. Local development trends and impacts will be discussed by a panel of industry experts and government officials, moderated by Sean Ellis, Esq., of Roetzel & Andress. The Symposium will begin with registration and continental breakfast at 8 a.m. and the program 8:30 a.m. – 12 noon, Thursday, September 19th, at The Club at Grandezza on Ben Hill Griffin Parkway at Corkscrew Road. Admission is $35 for members of REIS, FPZA or APA and $50 for all other interested persons, with the exception of FGCU students who may attend at no charge. Admission includes snacks and refreshments. Seating is limited and reservations are required by September 16th. AICP credits are pending approval.
