Emergency preparedness and public safety issues will be discussed at the Real Estate Investment Society’s (REIS) April 9th luncheon meeting. Lee Mayfield, director of Lee County’s Department of Public Safety, will be the featured speaker. Director Mayfield will address lessons learned from Hurricane Irma and preparations for the approaching hurricane season. In addition to emergency management and medical services, the Department of Public Safety also oversees the government communications network and administers distribution of fire and EMS impact fees. Following the presentation, Director Mayfield will respond to questions of specific interest to the real estate investment and development industry. Lee Mayfield, CEM, FPEM, joined Lee County Emergency Management in 2014. He previously served as Emergency Management Coordinator with Collier County Emergency Management and as State Emergency Management Regional Coordinator for Southwest Florida. The meeting is sponsored by IBERIA Bank, and will begin promptly at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9th in the Osprey Room at Pelican Preserve’s Clubhouse, on Treeline Avenue at Colonial Boulevard, one mile east of I-75 exit 136 in Fort Myers.
