Flooding risk is an increasingly important issue for real estate development, financing, and management in Southwest Florida. The Real Estate Investment Society (REIS) will take a hard look at flooding and insurance issues at its February 8th luncheon meeting, with Brian Chapman, founder and CEO of Chapman Insurance Group, leading the discussion.
The program will include updates on flood zone mapping, risk rating, mitigation strategies, the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), and the insurance industry. Chapman is also expected to offer insight on how lenders, builders and property owners are coping with the challenges. Following his presentation, Mr. Chapman will respond to questions of specific interest to the real estate investment and development industry. Brian Chapman formed Chapman Insurance Group in 2009 to be able to provide a greater range of options to property owners in Southwest Florida. The firm has grown dramatically and Brian has emerged as a leading advisor to the real estate and building industry in the region. The meeting is sponsored by Midland 1031 and will begin promptly at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, February 8th in the Osprey Room at Pelican Preserve’s Clubhouse, on Treeline Avenue at Colonial Boulevard, one mile east of I-75 exit 136 in Fort Myers. Admission is $30.00 for members and $45.00 for guests, which includes lunch. Reservations are required by February 3rd. REGISTRATION IS CLOSED
