The importance of the healthcare sector in the growth of Southwest Florida has increased significantly as the coronavirus pandemic continues. Dr. Larry Antonucci, president and CEO of Lee Health, has been leading the effort to advance and expand healthcare resources and will provide an overview of current initiatives and long term plans at the February 9th luncheon meeting of the Real Estate Investment Society (REIS). The growth of the medical sector has also been a driving force for commercial real estate and construction in the region and the investment in healthcare facilities is an important factor for new residents moving to this area. Following the presentation, Dr. Antonucci will respond to questions of specific interest to the real estate investment and development industry. Dr. Antonucci joined Lee Health in 2007 as chief administrative officer of Cape Coral Hospital. During his tenure he has overseen the growth of Lee Health through acquisitions, expansion and new development. Lee Health is Florida’s largest nonprofit public health system, with 1,812 beds and over 14,000 employees. The meeting is sponsored by Suffolk, and will begin promptly at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9th in the Osprey Room at Pelican Preserve’s Clubhouse, on Treeline Avenue at Colonial Boulevard, one mile east of I-75 exit 136 in Fort Myers. Admission is $30.00 for members and $40.00 for guests, which includes lunch. Reservations are required by February 4th. REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.
